Reverse Refugee

Creating a city from scratch amidst the urgent circumstances of an impending wave of emigrants necessitates a multifaceted approach. Initially, prioritizing safety and establishing an efficient grid layout are paramount. However, long-term planning is equally crucial, considering the evolving needs of the population over time—both in the short and long term.

The concept of "Reverse Refugee" embodies a strategic response to rapid population influxes and uncertain futures. Here, negative spaces evolve into positive ones as the city matures. From utilizing lightweight materials to transitioning to more durable structures, this adaptive approach ensures resilience and sustainability at various scales—from individual buildings to entire city blocks.
Furthermore, fostering a sense of community and resource-sharing among residents is essential, even beyond the initial crisis period. The plan is designed to facilitate continued collaboration and mutual support, transforming temporary arrangements into lasting solutions for a cohesive and thriving cityscape.
